In this tutorial, we will explain you how to add a founder animal on MiceManager.

Prerequisite :

• Optional: Add genetic Background
• Optional: Crossbreed

Go to the Mice page by clicking Menu/Mice to access your animal list.

Start to create a new animal by clicking on the “+” button ; this open you a dialog form prompting for the animal information. Minimal information are : a numerical code (corresponding to earclip or RFID) and a sex.

According to your practice, you can add a string prefix, a date of death (if you want to register dead animal) and a genetic background.

If you already have litters :

• you want to add this new animal as a child of it, you can select the corresponding litter in the “Litter” field.
• you want to add this new animal as a parent of it, you can select the corresponding litters in the multiselect field “Parent in”.

After clicking “Validate”, your animal is registered on MiceManager.
